Welcome to the Green Mini-Grid Help Desk. We provide a complete information service for developers of green mini-grids (GMGs) in Africa. The website has been developed by Energy 4 Impact (formerly GVEP International) and INENSUS for the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) Africa Hub, hosted by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and funded through the Bank’s Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA).

The SE4All Africa Hub is implementing a Green Mini-Grid Market Development Program (GMG MDP) to facilitate the creation of a GMG movement and enabling environment across Africa.GMG MDP is part of the Green Mini-Grids Africa Program which is being funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID). To achieve universal access to modern energy by 2030, as prescribed by the SE4All objectives, Africa will require substantial investments into national power grids, off-grid solar home systems, and isolated mini-grids.

The GMG Help Desk has been set up so developers can find practical information on GMGs quickly – this includes market reports, links to industry and financial stakeholders, instruction guides, business forms and templates, financial models and much more. Developers can navigate the website by topic, by country or by stage in the mini-grid project development life cycle.

Those developers wishing for more tailored support should register online and fill out the questionnaire in “Speak to an Expert”. We hope you like our website and look forward to hearing from you. For those wanting to give feedback or get more information, please email the following:
